Verse of the Day
“Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.”
1 John 3:18 (NLT)
It is easy to tell someone that you care, but love becomes real when words are backed by action. Jesus exemplified love in its purest form when He gave His life for us. His sacrifice shows that biblical love is more than affection or kind words. He taught the crowds, but He also fed the hungry. He spoke compassionately, but He also touched the sick and welcomed people others avoided. His love was truthful, personal, and active.
The question is, are you willing to inconvenience yourself for the good of another person, especially someone you have nothing to gain from? Love may interrupt your plans. It may require patience, attention, generosity, or sacrifice. You may need to give up time you wanted for yourself. You may need to respond kindly when you feel tired. You may need to help without receiving recognition.
You may not have much money or influence, but you always have opportunities to act love. You can pay attention. You can listen without rushing. You can share. You can serve. You can pray. You can choose not to ignore the need that God has allowed you to see.
Love by action also includes the things others may never notice. It may look like checking on someone privately, giving without announcing it, helping at home without being asked, or speaking well of someone who cannot repay you. These actions reflect the heart of Christ because they are not performed for attention.

Ask God to make your love practical. Do not wait for a perfect opportunity. Start with the person near you and the need you can meet. Love becomes believable when it takes form through what you do.
