Colossians 3:23Verse of the Day
“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”Colossians 3:23 (NKJV)
Our attitude toward work often depends on how we feel about the people we work for. When leaders are supportive and fair, it is easier to give our best. But when the environment is difficult or when we feel unappreciated, the temptation is to reduce our effort or work with resentment.
Today’s verse challenges that mindset. It reminds us that whatever we do, we should work at it willingly, as though we are working for the Lord and not just for people.
This changes the perspective completely. Your work is not only about pleasing a boss or meeting the expectations of an organisation. It is ultimately an act of service to God. Whether anyone notices your effort or not, God sees it.
Sometimes people respond to difficult work situations by doing the bare minimum. They show up physically but withdraw their commitment. Over time, this attitude affects the quality of their work and their personal growth.
But when you choose to serve wholeheartedly, your motivation becomes different. You pursue excellence not because of who is supervising you, but because you honour God with what you do. Your diligence becomes an expression of your faith.
The work you do faithfully today can open doors tomorrow and shape the character God wants to build in you.
So give your best. Serve with integrity. Work with a willing heart. In doing so, you are serving the Lord Himself.
