Bible Reading
Verse of the Day
“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.”
Matthew 19:29 (NKJV)
Following Christ can be costly. Obedience may affect your comfort, plans, possessions, opportunities, or relationships. Jesus never hid the price of discipleship, but he also made it clear that no sacrifice made for his sake is forgotten.
In Matthew 19, a rich young man walked away because he could not release what he valued most. The disciples then reflected on what they had left behind to follow Jesus. His answer assured them that faithful surrender will be rewarded. This is not a promise of a simple material exchange. It is a promise that God sees every loss connected to obedience and will repay in ways that are greater and eternal.
You may not always see the reward immediately. Some sacrifices feel painful, unnoticed, or unfair. Yet Christ remains faithful. He can provide new strength, deeper fellowship, spiritual fruit, and lasting treasure that cannot be measured by earthly gain. What you place in his hands is never wasted.
Do not let fear of loss keep you from obeying. Hold every gift with open hands and keep Christ first. The reward for sacrifice is not only what God gives you later, but also the privilege of knowing him more deeply now and the promise of eternal life with him.

Reflection
God sees every sacrifice made for Christ and will not forget it. Reflect: What are you afraid obedience may cost you? Practice: Surrender that concern to God and take one faithful step today.
