Matthew 11:28-30Verse of the Day
“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.””Matthew 11:28-30 (NLT)
Weariness does not always come from physical work. Sometimes it comes from carrying pressure, expectations, regret, or silent struggles for too long. You can be active on the outside and exhausted within.
Jesus speaks directly to that kind of fatigue. He invites the weary and the burdened to come to Him, not to a system or a performance-based effort, but to Himself. His promise is rest, and it is rest for the soul.
Perhaps the biggest burden on our souls is the weight of sin and its consequences. Guilt, shame, and the awareness of our shortcomings can drain us deeply. Jesus’ invitation is still open. Come to Him, and you will find rest. He does not add to your burden; He lifts it.
When He says His yoke is easy and His burden is light, He is not denying that life involves responsibility. He is reminding us that we do not carry it alone. In Him, the weight shifts. Grace replaces strain.
If you feel tired today in body or in spirit, respond to His call. Real rest is not found in escape but in coming to Christ and allowing Him to carry what you were never meant to bear alone.
