Luke 5:4Verse of the Day
“When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.””Luke 5:4 (NKJV)
The “deep” often represents the parts of our lives we haven’t explored or conquered yet. It could be a new opportunity, a bold step, or a direction that feels uncertain. It’s not comfortable there. It’s unfamiliar. And sometimes, it reminds you of past failures.
Peter understood this. He had already tried and failed. He had spent the whole night working with nothing to show for it. Going back into the same waters didn’t make sense. It felt like repeating a mistake.
But something changed. Jesus spoke. And Peter obeyed.
That’s the difference.
It wasn’t just about going deeper. It was about going at His word. Without that, it’s just another risky move. But with His instruction, what looks empty can produce results beyond what you expect.
Sometimes, the place God is leading you to is the same place you failed before. The difference now is His direction. And that changes everything.
You may feel unsure. You may remember how it didn’t work before. But if God is speaking, that’s enough reason to move.
Don’t rush ahead on your own. But don’t hold back when He leads.
Where is God asking you to trust Him again, even after a past disappointment? Ask Him for clarity to hear His voice and the courage to obey, even when it doesn’t make sense.
