James 1:2-3Verse of the Day
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.”James 1:2-3 (NKJV)
Nobody wants trouble. We plan to avoid it, pray against it, and structure our lives to stay as comfortable as possible. But Scripture shows us that some qualities cannot be developed without difficulty.
Today’s verse admonishes us to count it all joy when troubles come, not because trouble itself is good, but because of what it produces in us. Trials test our faith, and in that testing, faith grows stronger. What feels like disruption is often development in disguise.
Trouble exposes the depth of our trust in God. It stretches us beyond what is familiar and forces us to rely on Him rather than our own strength or plans. Without these moments, certain character traits, patience, endurance, and maturity, would never fully form.
Counting it all joy is a choice to see beyond the discomfort and focus on the outcome. It is choosing to trust that God is using every challenge to strengthen your faith and shape you into who He intends you to be.
