Matthew 18:18Verse of the Day
“I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”Matthew 18:18 (NKJV)
You have the power to allow or reject certain things in your life. What you permit on earth, heaven agrees with. What you forbid on earth, heaven also respects.
This may sound strange, but it is true. God will not override your will. Even when He desires to do something in your life, your permission still matters. Heaven responds to the position you take on earth.
This understanding should make us more intentional about what we allow in our lives — and even what we resist. Faith and prayer are not just spiritual routines; they are ways we align our will with God’s will. Through faith, we agree with what God desires. Through prayer, we give Him permission to act.
We also need to be careful with our words. Many people send mixed signals. They pray for God’s will to be done, yet spend the rest of their time complaining, doubting, or speaking against what they prayed for. Our words can either reinforce our prayers or quietly cancel them.
You have authority over your own life. The question is: how are you using that authority today?
