John 14:6Verse of the Day
“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”John 14:6 (NKJV)
Jesus spoke these words to his disciples, who were confused and unsettled. He had just told them He was going away. They did not understand where He was going or how they could follow.
“I am the way.” He is not one path among many. He is the path. Through His death and resurrection, He is the access to the Father. Relationship with God is not achieved by effort or earned by performance but by faith in Jesus Christ.
“I am the truth.” Truth is not just a set of ideas. It is revealed in a person. Jesus perfectly reveals who God is. His words are reliable. His promises stand. In a world of shifting opinions, He remains constant.
“I am the life.” He is the source of spiritual life now and eternal life beyond this world. Apart from Him, there may be existence, but not the fullness of life God intends. In Him is life, and the life is the light of men.
To know Jesus is to know the way, to trust Him is to stand in the truth and to receive Him is to receive life.
