Proverbs 18:21Verse of the Day
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)
Verse of the Day
There is a story of a father who, in a moment of frustration, told his young son he would never amount to anything. The boy grew up, and those words followed him and influenced the way he saw himself for years and ultimately became a self-fulfilling prophecy.
God spoke the world into existence and as we’ve been created in His image, our words also have creative power. Therefore, we must be careful how we use our words. When you speak faith-filled words, you align yourself with God’s purposes and plans.
Today, pay attention to what leaves your mouth. Use your words wisely. Speak life. Speak faith. Speak the kind of future you desire to see.
Is there someone in your life who needs to hear an encouraging word from you today?
Are there words you have spoken that caused harm — words you need to take responsibility for or address?

Reflection
Reflect and Pray
What words have you been speaking over yourself or your situation lately — do they reflect faith or fear?
Lord, teach me to take my words seriously. Help me to speak with care, with truth, and with kindness. Where I have used my words to tear down, forgive me. I want the things I say — about myself, about others, about my circumstances — to reflect what You say. Guard my tongue when I am angry, afraid, or tired. Let my words be life. Amen.
