1 Peter 1:7Verse of the Day
“These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”1 Peter 1:7 (NKJV)
Fire consumes. But at the right temperature, it can purify, refine, mould, and restructure.
Gold in its natural state doesn’t look valuable. To the untrained eye, it just looks like an ordinary stone. But when it passes through fire, and the impurities are burned off, what remains is a precious and purified metal.
This is how trials work in our lives. They often come as difficult challenges or persecution. Its purpose is not to destroy but to purify and refine.
Faith that has not been tested cannot be proven. And God is intentional about building genuine faith in us. The key is to persevere and remain strong. To hold on to what you know about God even when circumstances try to suggest otherwise.
Scripture assures us that we will not be tested beyond what we can bear. If the trial has come to you, it means God has weighed you and knows you can overcome it, not in your own strength, but by relying on His grace. And His grace is always available.
So don’t give up. Don’t give in. Stand firm in the faith. Allow God to use this season to refine you and produce something beautiful out of your life.
What trial are you currently facing that feels like fire?
Ask God for the grace to endure. Pray for strength to stand firm and trust Him to use this season to refine your faith and shape your life for His glory.
