2 Corinthians 4:18Verse of the Day
“While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”2 Corinthians 4:18 (NKJV)
Life often pulls our attention toward what we can see. We focus on immediate needs, present challenges, and the circumstances right in front of us. When situations become difficult, it is easy to feel overwhelmed because what we see appears very real and urgent.
Naturally, our response is to try to fix or control everything within our reach. We measure success by visible results and judge situations based on what is happening now. But when our perspective is limited to what we can see, we can lose sight of the bigger picture.
Scripture reminds us that the things we see are temporary, while the things we do not see are eternal. This reveals an important truth about God’s perspective. He works beyond what is visible. His plans extend beyond our present moment and into eternity.
Because of this, we are called to live with an eternal perspective. God is often working in ways that are not immediately obvious. Even when things look obscure, His purposes are still unfolding. What feels permanent now may only be temporary in the larger story God is writing.
When we shift our focus from the temporary to the eternal, our hearts become steadier. Challenges lose their power to define us, and we are able to trust that God is accomplishing something far greater than what we can currently see.
Today, lift your eyes beyond the present moment. Remember that what you see is temporary, but what God is doing will last forever. Let that truth shape how you face today.
