Verse of the Day
“Other seeds fell among thorns that grew up and choked out the tender plants.”
Matthew 13:7, 22 (NKJV)
Some seeds fell among thorns. They began to grow, but the thorns choked them. Jesus said these are those who hear the word, but the cares of this life and the deceitfulness of riches choke it.
This group started well. The word was received and understood, but they allowed the pursuit of comfort, success, and the cares of the world distract them, and as a result, the seed didn’t have deep roots.
The issue here is not rejection of the word, but competition. Too many voices. Too many concerns.
