Psalm 42:5Verse of the Day
“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Saviour and my God!”Psalm 42:5 (NKJV)
Discouragement and disappointment are part of life. Even as believers, we are not exempt from hard seasons. There are moments when prayers seem unanswered, plans fall apart, and the heart feels heavy. It is natural to feel sad. It is human to feel disappointed.
David gives us a clear pattern on how to respond to discouragement—hope in God.
Placing your hope in God means letting go of the need to control the outcome. It means trusting Him with what you cannot fix. It is choosing to believe that He is still good, still present, and still at work, even when life does not make sense.
When life happens and discouragement creeps in, follow David’s example. Be honest about how you feel. Then shift your focus. Put your hope in God and trust Him to take care of the situation.
