Genesis 50:20Verse of the Day
“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”Genesis 50:20 (KJV)
Joseph’s words come at the end of a long and painful journey marked by betrayal, injustice, and loss. What others intended to harm him deeply affected his life, but it did not have the final say. God was at work all along, using even those painful actions to accomplish a greater purpose.
Joseph’s story does not deny the reality of evil or minimize the hurt he experienced. It acknowledges that wrong was done, while also affirming that God is powerful enough to redeem what was meant for harm and turn it toward good.
Often, we judge situations by how they feel in the moment. God, however, works with a much wider view. What seems senseless or unfair now may later reveal itself as part of a bigger story that brings life, growth, or deliverance to others.
When you look back on difficult experiences, remember this truth: people may act with wrong intentions, but God remains sovereign. He is able to bring good out of what was meant to break you and use it to fulfill His purpose.
