Proverbs 19:20Verse of the Day
“Get all the advice and instruction you can, so you will be wise the rest of your life.”Proverbs 19:20 (NKJV)
Wisdom rarely comes by accident. It is usually the result of learning, listening, and being willing to receive guidance.
Many mistakes in life come from ignoring counsel. Pride often convinces us that we already know enough or that we can figure everything out on our own. But the wise person understands the value of learning from others—especially those who have walked the path before them.
God often uses people to guide us. Through mentors, parents, leaders, teachers, and even friends, He provides insight that can save us from unnecessary pain and help us make better decisions.
Receiving instruction requires humility. It means being willing to pause, listen, and consider perspectives beyond our own. When we do this, we gain wisdom that shapes our choices and influences the direction of our lives.
A life guided by wisdom is more stable, fruitful, and aligned with God’s purpose. That is why the Bible says in Proverbs 4:7: “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.”
Today, remain open to instruction. Listen carefully to wise counsel. The lessons you receive today can guide you for the rest of your life.
Are you open to receiving advice and instruction from others?
Ask God to give you a teachable heart. Pray for wisdom to recognise good counsel and the humility to apply it in your daily life.
