Isaiah 43:18-19 NIVVerse of the Day
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV)
Your past does not define you. It is past, so leave it there. Holding on to a mistake you made will only hold you back from discovering a new version of yourself.
The verse for today instructs us not to dwell on the past, because God is constantly doing new things. Yes, you may have made a mistake, but God is giving you beauty for ashes. Focus on the beauty and leave the ashes behind.
Sometimes, the past we hold on to includes moments of victory or achievement. God is doing a new thing. Can’t you see it?
